Amazon believes the Kindle DX e-reader will change the way that people read. Central to the design is the striking e-ink screen that reproduces the appearance of real paper more closely than LCD screens or past e-reader technologies. Content can be acquired in various ways, including the Amazon Whispernet service. Whispernet uses a technology similar to wireless broadband to provide users with remote access to books, journals, magazines and other publications without having to access a computer or mobile phone.
